Life of Pi

No one has read Fallen by Lauren Kate huh? Well that's just rotten.

How bout Life of Pi? I expect a lot of you have read that once in your life. If not, lucky you. I was required to last year and it is just . . . long and boring. Basically, a boy's family is killed when the boat they're on sinks. The boy, Pi, survives by finding a lifeboat (which happens to be carrying a tiger). The majority of the book is just Pi on the lifeboat, trying to get to land with this tiger. Well. I know the theme is supposed to be about religion and finding yourself, but couldn't the author (whose name I don't recall) made the book a little more interesting? I just cannot stand that book.

Fallen Series by Lauren Kate

I should probably warn you before you start reading, I read a lot of fantasy fiction, young adult novels, and mysteries. I have not read a whole lot of classics besides the ones that I am forced to read. Also, just about everything I post I do so with the expectation that you've read the book. So, there are a lot of spoilers.

Now then.

Lets start with the series I most recently finished: the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. I absolutely loved these books, but I am really disappointed with the ending. *spoiler alert* Luce is an angel. Did anyone else get really annoyed with her at the end? She just finds out she's an angel and then she shoots back into Heaven and has to give up A) her knowledge of David B) her angel status and C) her knowledge of all her past lives and basically everything that's ever happened- all for the sake of love. That's ridiculous. It would have been better, in my opinion, if we at least are guaranteed David and Luce end up having a satisfying relationship. I realize they meet and will eventually get married (we can thank Arriane for that info), but that just doesn't cut it for me.
